What is the red square on Phone (3a)?

I have seen this blink in NOTHING 3A PRO while recording video, but didn’t notice it in NOTHING 3A. Does it mean this is just a show?

Yes, just like on the Phone (2a), the red square on the Phone (3a) is just a design element. On the Phone (3), the red square is used as the recording indicator light. It was mentioned in the keynote that this is something they always wanted to do but weren’t able to until Phone (3) 🙂

its just a design unlike in the new Nothing Phone 3 the red thingy they put is functional like for a notification or something

Sorry, I know this is an old post but I had to ask.

Obviously the 3a has this red square, the 3a pro has a light grey square and the 3 has a red square that indicates that the device is recording.

But why is the 3a pro the only one that stands apart with the grey??? I have the 3a pro in black and am genuinely quite saddened by the fact that it’s grey not black. In my opinion the red square would look way better than this grey.

oliverwhite2711 does it blink in nothing 3a pro? I haven’t noticed till now in my device. I tried to record but it didn’t blinked.

SamitSah mine doesn’t, adbo said in his answer that they were only able to do it on phone 3.
