I am currently having issues with my Nothing Phone 2. Just bought the unit last August and now noticed a green dot on the bottom left side of the screen. There is no incident nor issue of bent or drop of the unit.
I have reached out to the Philippine distributor and have accommodated my concern, however it took days for my unit to reach their office and still up to this point the statement on their online status platform is “to diagnose”.
It is rare in this country for a mobile phone to have a process of days to receive by the distributors office.
It brings to the concern, the warranty of Nothing clients. It is said there is a 12 month warranty period.
I am curious to understand the provisions of this hardware or software warranty and the scope of support of Nothing. For this case, as per Nothing, my unit is still in diagnosis - it’s been a week now and the diagnostics is taking some time. Questions are arising;
a. does the country distributor have capability to diagnose the unit or are train to do so?
b. after sending the unit to the distributor, will they send it to Nothing for diagnostics? it will obviously take time. Thus, the inconvenience is already mounting at it’s highest.
c. How does Nothing resolve this concern of clients from other countries?
Since there is no clear provision of the warranty services, what is the official statement of Nothing for this kind of concern.
“The Philippine market on mobile phone sales ”MANILA, February 17, 2023 – According to the International Data Corporation’s (IDC) Quarterly Mobile Phone Tracker, the Philippines smartphone market declined 8.6% year over year, shipping 16.3 million units in 2022.
Though the last quarter in 2022 grew 6.3% quarter over quarter, it registered a 16.3% decline compared to last year as several vendors focused on clearing out inventories rather than bringing in new shipments during the holiday season due to unfavorable market conditions."

Customer services plays a bigger part in the Philippine market. An impact on make or break in the market. A concern how Nothing’s reception to this kind of market will affect their sales in countries like the Philippines.
