CMF1_hacker Lmao what is the rated max temperature for the battery anyway, Edit: Found it on jerry rig’s teardown it does have a warning stating to not expose it to temps above 60° C.

Which from your results is within bounds for regardless I would think that repeated exposure to temperatures like these wouldn’t be good for the batteries.
How much time passed between you getting the warning and you opening accubattery, Because from the looks of things they disabled the app switcher for it to cool off, Even with a minor difference in time I would guess there would likely be a delta of a degree or two since the thermal load is removed and the system is going back to equilibrium, Especially because this is a higher relative delta between your ambient air temps and the phone.
Also I see you went and edited your post regarding posting my benchmark results, For someone who calls themselves a scientist i thought they’d prioritize controlled conditions like you’d find on dozens of benchmark channels over non temperature controlled rooms but I digress, Anyway went and reinstalled 3dmark(uninstalled after I ran it when I got the phone). The only thing to note is the test conditions are slightly different.
Temps and location that day were above 28 ambient (Not sure regarding the reliability of said thermostat that gave readings but weather that day was above 28), Today it’s 27 (based on the weather forecast idk add +-2 degrees for location variance and given its inside the home don’t have a thermostat here)and in a different location as well as again a non temperature controlled room.
The only other changes from when I did my test were I changed from the TPU + PC case to completely polycarbonate case not sure if that would affect thermal transfer much tbh but regardless still a variable.
Tests were done using the standard performance power profile not the light performance profile. I’ll also mention that my phone did get a software update but all that bumped up was the security patch to July from the changelog doesn’t seem to be any change beyond that. Don’t think they’d change the thermal behaviour anyway given its not an android version upgrade.
The only thing I could find of note is thermal stability seemed higher at 71% not sure what could account for that. Max temp seems the same although if memory serves correctly I started at a lower temperature 29C on the previous tests i did. Given I’ve seen some people with this phone go to 43 or 44 on YouTube I would surmise that 42 shouldn’t be the thermal throttling temp either.
Anyway here are the 3dmark screenshots.

Accubattery estimated SoT as well for good measure. Granted these are on the light performance profile since that’s what accubattery plotted it’s graphs on.

Didn’t think to check battery temps immediately after the test so I don’t have that data, Regardless because of Samsung’s ptsd after the note 7 I doubt battery temps would be that far off from the reported SoC temps for the wildlife extreme stress test.
