Dan_ie USB 2.0 can definitely achieve 65W and more, Gemini is wildly inaccurate there (I mean, lol, 7.5W wtf?). My (3a), out of advertised 50W, hits 43-50W just fine over USB 2.0 with my Anker 736 and Nothing’s default cable (the one included in the package with the phone itself).
Realme GT5 has USB 2.0 and 150W wired charging, it’s just that it’s extremely difficult to achieve due to older power-related efficiency of the technology itself (and extremely easy with far modern and more efficient USB 3.0) and you basically absolutely need manufacturer’s cable and their charger to hit those speeds, everything else is a pure lottery.
USB 2.0 offers no “handshake”, it only identifies devices at basic levels which limits current to safe defaults (Wattage, under advertised).
USB 3.0 (and 3.1, 3.2, but I’m lazy to type that each time) with PD uses that “handshake” to confirm cable’s and charger’s capabilities, then pushes voltage/current safely to the device’s maximum (which is why it’s easy to ALWAYS hit advertised speeds with USB 3.0).
In other words, to put it simply - charging over USB 3.0 is smart. Charging over USB 2.0 isn’t smart.
