Device reverts to light theme after selecting dark theme - help

I just bought the new Phone (3) and so far I’m loving it, except for a bug whereby the theme of the phone changes back to ‘light’ after selecting ‘dark’. Is anybody else experiencing this? I wouldn’t rule out user error.
