Hello, I’m a Nothing phone 3 user and I noticed that the battery isn’t very optimized. The phone lasts about 8-9 hours and is also not optimal for use for a long time with mobile internet and bluetooth. The onion man the problem is now fixed since long time. In fact after an update it seems you need to wait some days for everything to stabilize. Now i have very good battery life around 10 to 14 Sot and battery lasting 2 days.

Hello Folks….

I bought a new Nothing phone 3 last week and the only problem I’m facing is I am not getting the expected battery backed. I’ve only charging upto 90% and only getting maximum 7 hours . Does anyone have this issue and please suggest any solutions if you have covered it🙂🙏

albinreji199 It takes time for the phone to adapt to your usage habits, it was like that for me when I bought it too
In two weeks the battery will probably meet your expectations.

Earlier, in my Nothing Phone 3, 10% battery used to last for one hour. But after the latest update, 10% battery now lasts only about half an hour or around 40 minutes. Please fix this.Has anyone else also noticed this problem on their Nothing Phone 3?

Hi everyone,

I’ve been using the Nothing Phone (3) for about 3 days now, and I updated to Nothing OS 4 right after setting it up (last Friday).

Since then, I’ve noticed that the battery seems to drain faster than expected, even with relatively light usage (around 2–2.5h of screen time).

At first, I discovered that WhatsApp was running a very large backup (around 10GB) in the background, which clearly impacted battery life. After that finished, things improved a bit, but I’m still seeing some strange behavior:

- Nothing Launcher shows a relatively high battery usage (around 10–20%) with many hours in the background

- Some apps like YouTube or system services appear to stay active in the background for long periods

- Occasionally, apps like Camera or others show high battery percentages despite very short usage times

I’m not experiencing overheating or sudden drops, but overall battery performance still feels below what I would expect.

Is anyone else experiencing something similar after updating to Nothing OS 4?

Not sure if this is just the system still optimizing after the update, or if there might be a bug related to background processes or launcher behavior.

Any insights would be appreciated 🙏

DiegoLopez_fUvxRGffkL This also happened to me after the update. At first I thought it was just optimization of the phone, but it only improved slightly after a month… I contacted support, hoping for a fix in the upcoming update

I think I may have figured out the problem? The processor is also working in the background… I didn’t download things or anything like that, It’s been four days since I’ve been on the phone…

Is this how anyone else feels? I know it didn’t consume a lot of percentage, but it’s still unusual, I’ll try to monitor it in the coming days…

lolifnotely🇮🇱 7% cpu usage seems normal for some people but it’s considerably high if you don’t play any type of game and using normal social media apps and browsing…

I’m using my cmf ph1 for social media and browsing cpu using 2% battery for more than 2 days of sot… ofcourse it’s not accurate readings because my phone is not fully charged in weeks…

And snapdragon and mediatek is completely different class of cpu so directly comparing it unfair but this battery usage data is still somewhat related because nothing os 99% same for all devices…

Hi everyone,

I’m reaching out because the battery life on my Nothing Phone (3) is quite disappointing so far. I’m not sure if I’m doing something wrong or if I have a faulty unit.

I’ve already tried several optimizations based on suggestions I found here:

* Restricted background usage for Instagram, YouTube, and Telegram.

* Turned off Always On Display (AOD).

* Disabled 5G (using LTE/Wi-Fi only).

* Disabled “Sleep standby optimization” as suggested in some threads.

Despite the phone being mostly on Wi-Fi, the battery life doesn’t meet my expectations. It feels roughly the same as my old Pixel 8, which is surprising. In YouTube reviews and in many screenshots shared here on the forum, I see people getting much higher Screen-On Time (SOT).

Based on my current usage, I’m getting around 4.5–5 hours of SOT, while others seem to easily reach 7–8 hours.

Is this normal for the Phone (3) on NOS 4.0, or is there something else I should check? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

LestatDamned Just to make sure, the screenshot is before you set up limited background usage for Instagram and Telegram, right? 😅

Thanks for the quick reply! I applied those background restrictions a couple of days ago, but they still showed high background activity in that cycle. I’ve double-checked, and they are definitely toggled OFF now.

Here is the ‘View by systems’ screen. The CPU usage is at 32%, which seems quite high. Any thoughts on why it’s so active? May be VPN v2rayNG?

LestatDamned I don’t know either, my processor also works way too many overtime hours even though I’m not doing anything in the background/using a VPN…

I reported this to the company, I recommend you do the same (if you haven’t already 😅) via the official feedback in the settings

That’s interesting! It’s a relief to know I’m not the only one, but it definitely sounds like a software bug then. I’ll follow your advice and submit a report via the official feedback tool right away. Hopefully, they’ll fix this ‘CPU overtime’ issue in the next update. Thanks for the heads up!

JP The problem is that it runs in the background a lot when it doesn’t need to, and it also causes heating, so the phone charges terribly slowly… I’ve already started walking around without a case because of this

lolifnotely🇮🇱 yup… you should try checking which processes are running in background… you can use developer mode and adb commands if you’re comfortable with it…

And meta apps are not that big issue…I’ve Instagram and WhatsApp running in background with unrestricted battery usage and I’m getting the same sot …
