Whether it was at the Dover Street Market previews, in our last Community Quarterly Update video, or at our flagship Nothing Store Soho, you must’ve seen our first drop of Nothing Apparel by now. And, maybe you caught some sneak peeks of items in future drops!

To celebrate the recent releases, we’re giving away the two items in Drop 1: the Lab Coat and Cap. If you’d like to start off your 2024 in style, this one’s for you.

What design elements would you love to see in future Nothing Apparel drops? Think about materials, tech-inspired fashion influences, and fit. If you like, you could even sketch or leave a moodboard with your answer!

I really wish I had any design drawing ability…

I would love to see some car and or motorcycle apparel. Something that can be used to spruce up my ute. For example I’d absolutely love to see a nothing version of “apple car play” or “android auto”. Something which can be downloaded then used to connect my nothing phone 2 with all its amazing asthetics directly to my ute. This would be my techno based apparel (I think it still counts even if it’s for a car..?) Thinking on just apparel, you could also make something like steering wheel covers, seat covers, windscreen covers or even stickers all which shot off the glyph interface. How cool would a car windscreen or even just a standard window sticker be that is see through however has light up glyphs that can both light up and connect to your phone so that they light up in sync with your phones glyphs. Something I could put on the car, or even buy a few and place them on my surround sound speakers at home so that the musical visualisation can be seen on multiple devices through the one synced sticker (picture a DJ with multiple glyph light ups, all synced together).

It would be nice to see something at the intersection of tech wear and work wear.

Materials ranging from X-ray transparency to translucent should react based on light, heat or otherwise (revealing the Nothing logo under certain conditions).

Presence of industrial-style textual details on clothing, the same as you would find in Nothing products.

Glowing stripes and dots reminiscent of the Glyph Interface and the dot matrix: to communicate something and be recognizable from afar but without being out of place.

I would love to see some tech integrated wears…For example A jacket/Overcoat with some hand warming front pockets and option to charge ur phone/other devices wirelessly when we keep them inside inner pockets…Also the cap part can be equipped with some wired earphones to keep the person engaged.All this which can be controlled by Nothing X app.

Also Step counting shoes with some other fitness tracking (along with heart rate,BP monitoring tech) would be a great option too .

I would love a nothing chest bag where I can store all my nothing products and essential stuff without fear of being robbed.

I love the idea of a ‘nothing pendant (1)’ (or ‘broach (1)’).

Essentially, it is a smart wearable with built in speaker and microphone, worn around the neck so you, the user, can make and receive voice calls, play music, and search the web hands free.

Think of it as an AI companion in your day-to-day, controlled with voice commands. Kinda like having Alexa or Google Assistant perched on your shoulder – or for my fellow Trekkies – your very own Starfleet Communicator (!!!).

It can be worn under your clothes for discretion, but features a Glyph that can light up for visual notifications. You might look like you have an Arc Reactor in your chest, á la Tony Stark (Iron-Man), but my fellow Marvel fans may agree that would be totally incredible (!!!).

The smart pendant could also include healthcare technologies (step counting, for example) if it doesn’t make the wearable too heavy or bulky. If the device continually communicated with users’ smartphone, that might not be necessary though.

When I first heard of the launch of nothing apparel, I immediately thought that a shoe would look really good. Pairing semi-transparent materials with a white/black sole, with the nothing logo on the side of the sole (black on white or vice versa). Maybe even a netting with canvas pairing? Whatever it is, I really think a shoe would come out amazing. And no, I don’t have any drawing skills.

As a undergraduate, I would love to see a case that can hold both pencils and Nothing Ear. Dreaming, even a powerbank to charge the NP2😜. I’m not convinced by the transparencies here, because the case is a private thing, but I think you can create good concepts aligned with the Nothing brand 😁. Also a water bottle with good materials to go prepared to the lessons would be epic.

Honestly, I’d really like affordable apparel that also looks good. The current apparel is just too expensive. If nothing made a semi-big laptop bag with at least 2 chains and under 5k inr, I’d buy it.

Nothing design language speaks functional aesthetics so, when it comes to apparel, functional aesthetics is usually found throughout tech wear brands. So in general I would like to see Nothing approach to techwear more than workwear.
What else I would like to see?

1. Amplified transparency.
By using inner layers (can be anything from typography to colored details like straps and laces) we can introduce depth.
(a). Outer layer clothes could feature transparent elements (or be fully transparent) so clients could add details using inner layer clothing (or even stuff some things inside transparent “pockets”).

2. Functional aesthetics.
Moodboard shows couple examples like integrated straps for a backpack and detachable sleeves.
(a). Functional elements. Gloves with (phone?) pocket, strap can be used to hook some things (keys?) as well as belt loop.

3. Materials and fit.
Materials could feature some mesh-like options (it’s breathable and semi transparent).
Blending different materials/textures and colorblocking.
Relaxed/baggy fit clothes with adjustable straps/cords
(a). Unconventional materials. Bubblewrap bag as a perfect example

4. Technical aesthetics and stuff.
Various technical drawings and texts (may be funny😉).
Reference things from tech world in clothing design. Usb c connector as a lace tip (emergency cable?)
