Nothing Hadphone (1) crackling sound at 70 %+ volume

i bought nothing headphones today, design and comfort are excellent..

However at higher volumes around 70 or + both the left and right i hear a crackling sound during music playback….it sounds like the speakers are torn…..not sure why is that i also updated to latest firmware out of the box…lot of distortion on both sides….

anyone with similar issues or any workaround or fix helps..

chandra_murthyraju I’ve heard that certain bass crackling is a problem with the seal of the Headphones themselves and is a result of the ANC and transparency trying to compensate for that, hence the crackling. Does the crackling continue if you turn ANC off? And does it continue if you use a wired connection?

chandra_murthyraju i am experiencing a similar issue but only with the right side. Not sure the cause of this problem. Nothing doesn’t really seems to do anything about this major issue right now despite many complaints being raised. Probably a patch update is being worked on right now. Hopefully this is fixed soon with an update.

chandra_murthyraju I’m currently trying very hard to love these headphones but I just can’t because of the bass distorsion at high volumes. The design is very good but if they can’t accomplish what they’re meant for in a good manner what’s the point of a good design? They need to roll out a fix to this issue asap

pollenjh you are right i am unable to reproduce issue with ANC off….issue surfaces if ANC is On..still a issue out of the box for a $400 headphones….i have chose this ones over sony xm5’s currently$ 50 cheaper than this ones on a discount 🙁 donno if this can be fixed with a software update….

Just returned it🤣 no more hassle and regrets investing on a expensive piece of hardware..with issues and wait for nothing team to fix it in upcoming updates

I contacted support, and they deployed a firmware update for me: version 1.0.1.72.
I’m not sure if it’s available to everyone or if it was specifically unlocked for me, but in any case, I suggest waiting, as the issues have disappeared.
It seems the problem was related to how the ANC system was misprocessing vibrations from the headset picked up by the noise-cancelling microphones.

I have friends interested in the Headphone 1’s waiting to see if this problem really does get resolved with a firmware update

Hey - similar issue hear, crackling in the left ear-cup only with ANC on and volume at 0%.

Issue disappears when ANC is turned off.

Hopefully a software and not a hardware issue.

Noise cancellation and bass is tricky basically due to the vibrations that happen with the speakers and the noise cancellation interpreting them as noise

dont update to (1.0.1.72) its a down grade bass and sound profile went totally flat…nothing guys are working on fix please dont update
