Subway Surfers only 60Hz refresh rate

Subway Surfers game runs up to 60Hz refresh rate instead of 120Hz, like it does on my S25+

Have already provided feedback to the Nothing team.

Are there any other games that do not use the highest display refresh rate available?

georgios1 Interesting, I was informed by the Nothing customer support team that the game does not support 120Hz on this specific device yet. They stated that the game developers will have to support it. I assume it is hardware related as the game runs smoothly at 120Hz refresh rate on a Samsung Galaxy S25+

georgios1 On all Nothing phones, most games and some apps are capped at 60Hz after the Nothing OS 3.0 update, likely to preserve battery life 😭. However, there’s no option to enable a higher refresh rate, even Force High Refresh rate in Developer Options doesn’t work either..

Only certain titles, such as BGMI and PUBG, support refresh rates above 60Hz.

I contacted Nothing support 2 times, one time they also said that it was a hardware limitation and the other time they we re asking me about my phone s info, pretty confusing. I hope that they find a fix to it.

Spark Yes, you’re correct, I have only seen BGMI, PUBG and so on support anything above 60hz… T_T

In the recent update, there was a game that had it’s refresh rate updated.

“booster performance of a top Battle Royale game at 120fps”

so, I think you have to specifically request it (another member here had luck with talking with NOTHING support directly in the UK).

Anonymous729 I don’t game, my children do on my old CMF1 though, so I don’t have a horse in this race. I have a Wii under the bed that I bought for house parties in 2009. Haven’t really gamed since then.

CMF1_hacker Even I don’t game on phones in general either, but still… games not running on 120hz is irritating… I only play like during commute….

Anonymous729 I’m currently testing to see if NOTHING is now throttling the 8sg4 chip as it overheated before in my phone and crashed the phone under extreme stress.

Have contacted Subway Surfers customer support yesterday, they requested the device information, so I expect further feedback from them now

UPDATE 24/07/2025:

I’ve got a response from the Subway Surfers customer support and it is not the one I expected. They are treating the request to support 120Hz on this device as an “idea” to be considered… I don’t waste more time here

UPDATE 14/03/2026:

Here we are again in March 2026, almost 8 months since I reported the issue to both Nothing and Subway Surfers, and the game still runs at 60Hz in the Nothing Phone 3 while it runs at 165Hz in OnePlus15

Just to remind myself that I have paid 799 pounds to purchase the Nothing Phone 3 on release while paid 879 pounds to purchase OnePlus15 on release + Watch3 as a gift

@Carl Is there any chance the team looks at it at some point, please?
