Nothing X keeps using location services in the background

After the latest update to the Nothing X app — which now supports not only earbuds but also the CMF Watch — I’ve noticed a strange issue:

📍 The location icon is constantly active, as if the app is using GPS non-stop, even when it’s not open or in use.

Some context:

Location permission for Nothing X is set to “Allow all the time”, same as it was before.

With the old CMF Watch app, location was used only occasionally (for example, to update the weather).

Since switching to Nothing X, the GPS indicator stays on permanently.

I’m using Android with the latest system and app updates installed.

This seems like a change in behavior compared to th

previous app.

NexPG Yes i realised abt it too. I found out the root cause of my battery drain where the app always utilised the location in background. I changed the permission for location to “Ask Every Time” and still analysing the battery performance. For now, it’s getting better.

+1 to get this fixed.

There is absolutely no need to poll the location consonantly, especially if it only used for the weather.

It seems to be fixed now, no polling in the background, not even if the app is on foreground, battery usage has gone from 10% to 4%. I also changed unlimited battery use to optimized and it still functions like normal.
