Hello,
I bought a CMF Watch 3 Pro as my first Nothing product. It arrived on Saturday. For now the first impression is pretty decent, but there are some issues. Let’s tackle those first:
- I couldn’t set up an account for the watch in the Nothing X app using personal domain e-mail. I constantly got a warning I had already requested too many 2FA codes and had to try again in an hour. This happened even the first time. When I tried my Google account (which I try to use as little as possible), it worked immediately.
- The Dutch translation of the Nothing X Android app is atrocious. E.g. all the training data is under the label ‘Geschiktheid’, which means ‘appropiateness’. It makes no sense. I also seem unable to switch it back to English, because it seems to take the language setting from Android.
- I also own a Fitbit Charge 5. Sports tracking is my main use for the Watch too. I am using them both now to see if there are any differences. Most of the data match up, except two:
- the CMF Watch counts a lot less steps than the Fitbit. Currently I am on 9.571 steps on the Fitbit and 7.750 on the CMF Watch. Hard to say which one is right.
- the CMF Watch seems to register a lot more sleep than the Fitbit. Or more precisely: the Fitbit says I have a lot of short breaks in my sleep where I wake up without noticing it, which it says fits with my ‘parrot’ sleeping style, that the CMF Watch doesn’t register. So the Fitbit registered only 8 hours and 6 mins of total sleep, where the CMF Watch registered 9 hours and 19 minutes.
And now the big one: the battery life so far seems to be very bad. I read something about 13 days in the announcements. However, my watch was at 5% after only two days of use. Of course, there was a firmware update and in the beginning you tend to use it more than later, but that’s still a huge difference. Especially considering I charged it to 92% this morning and now at 7 PM it’s already down to 73%.
But lots of good things too: the design, ease of use of the Nothing X app (bad translation not withstanding), general good activity tracking, no connection issues with phone (I have a Poco X7 Pro.)
Another weird issue I noticed: the time sometimes switches to 12hr mode from 24hr mode and then back again.
