I just received my CMF Phone Pro 2 and while I’m delighted at the value for money, there’s a few shortcomings I’d like to see addressed, most of them relatively simple.
- More home screen color scheme options, especially where notification dots are concerned. If I use the default icon pack the only colors I have to choose from are pastels, which make it hard to see the notification dot on an app. A few brightly colored options, particularly the standard red, would be appreciated. I know additional icon packs can be downloaded, but not everyone (me) wants the faff just to have a normal notification dot.
- Allow remapping of the Essential Space button for those of us who choose not to utilize that feature. Or at least the ability to disable it. I find myself constantly bumping it and bringing up the app when I don’t want it.
- On future revisions, consider moving the volume slider up a bit. When I go to turn off the screen with the power button I find myself sometimes taking an unwanted screenshot as the volume button is at the ideal location for stabilizing your grip when pressing the power button, directly across from the power button.
- Enable remote control through Windows Phone Link! I used to have a Samsung A51 and found this feature priceless. Being able to access my phone’s screen from my PC while it’s charging elsewhere was extremely convenient.
- QR scanning - Please make it scan automatically without having to tap the screen, then proffer options of what to do with the scanned code. My old Samsung gave the options to open the link or copy the link, which is useful when you want to create a QR code to a website on a PC, scan it with your phone, and send it along to a friend. You can skip opening the site on your phone and just copy the link to share. This would be particularly useful when using the bespoke QR code button on the lock screen or in the pull-down tray.
- Lock screen weather widget - It would be nice to be able to have the largest size weather widget that has the 6 day forecast on the lock screen just like the home screen.
