NFC Payment Chip - Help

Anyone else on had issues with Gpay? I keep getting declined/made to present again and half of the time I eventually have to switch to using my physical bank card.

Haven’t found a fix for this yet, could this be a one off defect on my unit? Thanks!

For a bit of a rundown, I open the Google wallet, sometimes it works first try, sometimes it asks for fingerprint , sometimes it lets me strdaight in, I hold the phone to the reader and it either immediately double beeps/declines or it doesn’t react for a few seconds and then says “present again” on both the reader and the phone

Eureka! Found the issue. My previous phone was an iPhone 13, which had its nfc transmitter/antenna on the top. I’ve found with my NP3 it works every time when I put the center of the screen face down onto the reader, rather than tapping the top of the back like I as before.

Edit: not quite actually. This seems to differ between different payment terminal brands. Some work whatever orientation, and most others work when I place my screen on the reader. But last night one at a pub I was at was really difficult and eventually worked with the middle of the back tapping it. I can’t be the only one struggling with this surely?
