CMF1_hacker And, again, that’s literally my same thought process to the letter, especially about HyperCRAP, err, I mean HyperOS (yeah, I have it on my backup Redmi phone, it’s plain terrible as an OS).
But the difference is that they (Xiaomi) push a ton of unnecessary bloat where they are trying to basically scam you to open them and watch ads and whatever, while Nothing is “pushing” apps that majority of people actually use on a regular basis as their only apps (talking about preinstalled Google stuff).
Again, I’m all for minimalism with choices. Hell, even on my PC I have Adobe Photoshop, Affinity Photo 2, and Gimp installed, three apps that do the same thing, but one app can always do one particular thing better than other two. Why would phones be different regarding choices, no? It’s not Apple (and yes, you are spot on regarding iOS and MacOS remark).
And even on my phone, I heavily prefer Nothing Gallery for example and I use it in at least 9 out of 10 times, but that 1 time I simply need either Google Photos or Snapseed for some specific feature that’s missing here. I’m good with that.
