The 3rd update just dropped and the cameras ? They are looking sharper than ever. 📸.
Here I will show before vs after shots and the improvements I actually noticed.👀
1. Color consistency in 0.6x ,1x & 3x.
Before The Update :
The Phone 3 used to capture different colors across all three lenses of the same frame, even under the same lighting conditions.For example, 0.6x used to capture a warmer tone compared to the other two, and 3x used to capture brighter photos compared to 1x.
After The Update :
This issue has been fixed. Now it captures the same colors across all three lenses, and the color consistency is clearly noticeable.
2. Colour Consistency In 3x and 6x Shots.
Before The Update :
There was a noticeable color shift and oversaturation when switching from 3x to 6x zoom. The 6x image appears unnaturally saturated, especially in the greens compared to the more balanced tone seen at 3x.
After The Update :
This issue has been fixed. Now it captures same colors in 3x and 6x, with no oversaturation in 6x. The first two photos are before the update and the third and fourth are after the update.
3.Improvements in Portrait Mode.
Before The Update :
Portrait mode used to capture faded or washed-out colors. As seen in the first image, the background colours and the subject’s skin tones and it’s outfit appear muted. It also had edge detection issues around complex areas like hair, and sometimes it would overly brighten the skin tones and clothes.
After The Update :
It now captures better colors with more vibrancy,edge detection is better now and unwanted brightening of skin tones and clothes have been fixed.
4.6x Zoom Improvements.
Before The Update :
While capturing photos at 6x in standard photo mode, the final outputs used to look slightly underexposed and too contrasty.
After The Update :
The overall exposure has improved, shadow areas are better maintained, and there are slight improvements in overall sharpness as well.
Here, I captured the same frames before and after the update, and the improvements are quite noticeable.
5. 3x Periscope Sky Artifact Issue (fixed)
Before The Update:
When capturing outdoor scenes using the 3x periscope sensor, especially with an open or overcast sky in the frame, noticeable grid like patterns and square shaped artifacts could appear in the sky region.
After The Update:
This issue has been fixed and the grid-like patterns no longer appear.
6. Oversaturation in Macro (6x)
Before The Update :
When capturing macro shots using Standard Mode at 6x zoom, the image tended to appear overly saturated, especially in green and red tones.
After The Update :
This issue has been fixed and there is no longer any oversaturation in greens and reds
7. Improvements in 10x Zoom shots.
Before the Update:
While capturing human shots, the colors looked a bit dull and lacked vibrancy.
After the Update:
The colors now appear richer and more vibrant.
8. Improvements In 20x with SUPERRES Ai Zoom.
Before the Update:
The photos used to appear slightly faded, lacking some detail, sharpness, and contrast.
After the Update:
The photos now capture better colors and skin tones, with improved contrast and overall sharpness.
9. Better stability and Ai Enhancements in 30x and 60x Zoom.
I can see better stabilization while taking handheld zoom shots at 30x and 60x, and it feels like the AI enhancement has also improved slightly.

10. Reduced Shutter Lag.
The shutter speed has improved a lot with this update. Before, it used to some time to capture multiple pictures, and there was a noticeable shutter lag. Now after the update, it feels much faster and smoother.

11. Better Details and More Natural Looking Moon Shots at 60x Zoom.
Before The Update :
Whenever I clicked moon shots, they looked like the AI was doing a bit too much making the details feel artificial.
After The Update:
Now the moon shots look way more natural and detailed, and honestly, I find them much better compared to before.
And the Best Part is that most of the feedback shared by me & fellow community reviewers during the review program has been addressed & implemented. 🙌
