Crash Dump Mode - Phone 2
It happened to me today phone went off for some reasons all of a sudden when it was idle. Took the phone and kept pressing power button and a screen came up telling crash dump.bla bla…. Called the cust service and they said if only occoured once then no issues it’s a feature of the OS to shut automatically in case of any critical issues.. if it happens continuously they asked to contact the service center….
SrsThewrongguy Crash dump mode is essentially a safety feature where the phone shuts down automatically in response to critical issues. It seems like you experienced a similar situation with your NOS 2.5.1. If it becomes a recurring problem, reaching out to the service center might be necessary.
KarthicS_frm3up1Wsu It’s disheartening to hear about your recent issues, especially with a phone that’s not even a month old. Battery drainage and sudden shutdowns are indeed frustrating. Have you considered contacting customer support for assistance?
OscarStone Experiencing sudden shutdowns can be quite alarming. It’s reassuring that customer service mentioned it might be a feature of the OS for critical issues. Keep an eye on the frequency, and if the problem persists, contacting the service center as advised would be a good step.
Nothing won’t be able to help you in this. Try unlocking bootloader, flashing os via adb. Hope this would help. I fixed my phone 1 from same situation.

I’ve had the NP2 for about 1 month now and it has happened to me twice. First time I woke up to find phone in crash dump mode, then when I tried to restart the phone it restarted but went straight to dead android (with red triangle). Had to hard reset the phone in boot mode (hold power and volume up key), and select Reboot phone option, then phone restarted normally.
Second time happened last night, phone was just idle, and suddenly crash dump screen showed up. However this time no dead android screen fortunately. So just normal reboot and phone rebooted normally.
OS crashes happen from time to time, but when the phone gets stuck in crash dump mode, even though the message on screen says the phone will restart automatically, is highly annoying.

Update 2 Feb 2024 AM:
Happened again last night.
I had just updated to NOS 2.5.2.
Phone went into CrashDump mode (minidump) sometime in the middle of the night (2am-4am) as can be seen in the Battery Usage statistics. Upon holding power and volume up button, phone attempted to restart but encountered the Dead Android with red triangle. Had to perform a manual reboot of the device.
I’m afraid this is starting to happen more often, and crucially in the middle of the night, which means my alarm won’t ring in the morning….

Update 2 Feb 2024 PM:
Just happened again. Twice in the same day. Phone was in my pocket
OscarStone the irony is the support people have no knowledge
OscarStone but why does it happen, ive got the same problem.
wibian same problem in nothing phone 1
This the worst phone that I have ever used, not reliable every 30-40 min that crash dump is happening. I never recommend to buy any nothing products. Even Nothing has worst service also.
Just happened to me after 6 months of use. I was really, really happy with this phone, but this is concerning, to say the least. This never ever happened to me before with iPhone, Xiaomi… It says it will reboot later, but that can be minutes, hours, days…
I contacted support 2 weeks ago, they told me they had shipped an OTA update and asked me to download it and update (see screenshot).
OTA Build:
Demo Instruction video:
I followed the instructions and updated, and the phone felt stable since and issue no longer occurred. HOWEVER, last night the issue happened again…..woke up to find phone in Crash Dump mode. No reset reason showing.
I have contacted support again.
I have faced crash dump issue with nothing phone 1 .visited customer care they told it is mother board problem which cost around rs 23000 .waste of money .

It’s being the same for me , I was so happy with the experience so far, but I’m experiecning crashes everyday, it’s been more than 10-12 crashes so far. No error message nor reason, just crash dump mode. Support doesn’t seem to know what to do and I don’t know which phone could offer me a simmilar experience for the price (650€) nowadays.
Hope they find a solution quickly.
Update: Any update on this issue?
RafaelMartin - I’ve continued to experienced crashes. Mostly overnight when I’m sleeping - I wake up to find the phone in Crashdump mode, which meant alarm didn’t ring and I woke up late for work
Support told me to bring back to store for repair/replacement. They cannot help further.
I purchased the NP2 from a reseller and since there is no support centre in my country (New Zealand), I will have to take it back to the reseller. I intend to do so soon.
Please help!! I am having a lot of Crash Dump on my PH2 lately. I have noticed that it happens when i am on call in a moving car. Few times i was on call using car’s Bluetooth and it crashed and few times it has happened without been connected to to Bluetooth.
I never had serious problems with the phone like you describe, but the quality of the camera is similar to cameras on on phones costing less than half. The only thing on the phone that is correct with the price of it : the display. Software from Nothing is really poor.
How many reasons do we need in order to not choose Nothing for our next phone?
