HELP!
Had my Nothing Phone 2 for just over 2 ½ years and just suffered a CrashDump. Reset it many times but to no avail, even into recovery and also through the Green Android Robot (whatever it’s called) and did a clear cache. Nothing worked so I decided to factory reset the phone. Everything went fine, re installed all the apps and then suddenly CrashDump mode again. This time I cannot reset it and just loops back to crashdump?
Went on the forums to investigate further and it seems to be a hardware problem and a replacement of the motherboard is needed.
The point of of this rant is that I’ve only had this phone for 2 ½ years (2 year warranty expired) and now I have to fork out for a motherboard replacement. It’s left a bitter taste in mouth and the build quality or quality of the internal hardware components have QC issues. Spending nearly £630 on the phone and only lasting 2 years is not on and I really feel short changed….

UPDATE:
Emailed Nothing customer support concerning the CrashDump mode bricking my phone.
Stated the consumer rights act 2015 as the fit should be fit for purpose even though it’s out of warranty by 6 months. They said they are following consumer rights and have their own policies too. Seems their policy supercedes the Consumer Rights act 2015 as they are not willing to fix it for free.
Anyway they’ve given me an estimate:
As per the quotation:
£363 – Mainboard 12GB 256GB EU version
£30.5 – Service fee
£14.64 – Shipping fee
Total of £408.14
Please note that the quotation provided is only an initial estimation. The final cost may vary depending on the detailed assessment of your device once it has been inspected by our technicians.
There’s no value in getting it fixed with the cost of fixing costing nearly ⅔ of the phone.
I will be escalating this further to trading standards and will make a formal complaint to Nothing.
It’s a shame that I have to do this as I really liked the phone but the components come into question when the phone is unusable after 2 ⅕ years of ownership….
