Transparency on Nothing OS 4?

Here are some images I found online (credits to Design Central) And omg these look so good. Especially the quick settings. It would be awesome if we could get transparency in Nothing OS 4.

Anuzzi I will lose all faith in Nothing if this happens ,The OS is the only thing that
separates them from other brands for me. if their big NOS 4 update is just ripping ios thats over for me

No freaking way. This looks more cheap Chinese OS quick settings panel. Moreover,I hate the concept of notification group which just adds extra layer of ambiguity. The current grouping works well. And all the work notifications are easily identifiable with the default Android work icon. If they happen to introduce this, at least work and non work notifications can be put in a separate tab where one can swipe right to left to see the work related notifications and vice-versa. Having it simple and elegant always wins

I personally would not want the hit against battery life. Henceforth, I recommend an option to disable this feature, if enacted, rather than be mandatory subjugated to judicious use of my battery to compensate.

When you buy new nothing, or format one. You get to choose the appearance (nothing or stock Android) like that, there could be another option for this transparent theme. It would make it easier.

Change wallpaper to anything different than that, with more dynamic and colours, and you won’t be able to see a thing due to poor legibility. Xiaomi has exactly that btw, you don’t even have to buy iPhone.

Anuzzi But I think Nothing OS4 will focus more on AI stuff. What do you think will be the new features?

Improved Essential Space (already the best AI implementation from any other manufacturer than Google). What else is needed from AI that’s not already available?

It wouldn’t be a good thing. I mean, the concept is chinesium. Not out of hate, but definitely out of experience. Some big companies pulled back these ideas, it doesn’t usually fit well with the UX.

We need to wait for some more time, till the tech gets to the sci-fi level.

pixcel25 nothing won’t copy anything. You don’t have to worry about it. They will add few features over their 3.5. nothing else

Now that I think of it, I agree. Nothing should not and will not copy from any other brand. But I think Nothing OS4 will focus more on AI stuff. What do you think will be the new features? Aside from customizations and widgets.

tl;dr: perhaps I’m old but I don’t see what the hype is about.

why is everyone so excited about transparency, all it does is reduce battery life and make things harder to read?

I’ve already been down this road in macOS and it was garbage. I’ve had these since 2000 in macOS and find them pretty useless and very distracting and turn them off.

Why is there a push for this garbage in Nothing OS, which is clear, smooth and sleek? All Chinese brands will be doing this “fancy stuff,” so why not head in that direction as it’s likely less expensive.

Why do nothing have to always follow Apple.

And compare the nothing phone with apple, instead of standing out and do it’s thing without a comparison.

I don’t see apple doing that type of comparison with other companies, instead it focus on its own previous models,..
