How to perform a proper battery calibration ?

So I have decided to do a battery calibration on my NP3a.

Can someone please give me a proper and safe way/tutorial on how to perform it ?

As per a guide I saw online, you have to charge your phone to 100 % and keep it at 100 for 1 more hour, then use it normally and let it drain to 0. Then again charge it too 100.

Is this correct? Is there any change ?

Also I would like to know if performing it is safe; as I am doing so because the battery percentage showing is not consistent.

I would just slap AccuBattery on, use the phone as usual and record some data.

This forum has some interesting differences that I’m not used to: I seen this a few times and people really worry about USB-C to USB-C cable quality.

krizxjr I would just use it for a few days with your regular usage pattern a d see what comes out.

So what would you consider a normal sot ?

krizxjr I only have two NOTHING phones and have recently posted the SoT for the NP3 being 13-14h on and 70h off with BT, WiFI and 5g tower.

Here if the one from my CMF1 that I’m typing on now.

I seem to get 16h SoT and many days when the screen is off, but there is no SIM card in there right now. Perviously it was similar to the NP3 above.

I tend to see 0.3%/h for WiFi connection only, 1.0%/h with WiFi and SIM card and around 1.5%/h with WiFI, SIM and BT pushing all notifications to my watches.

krizxjr The issue here is what do you consider as “normal”? Every person’s situation is different and there are so many factors affecting how SoT works:

Your cellphone coverage. The worse the signal quality is, the higher the power consumption gets.
Wifi quality. Same as above, poor wifi signals can also lead to higher power consumption.
Installed apps. Some apps can be real battery hogs and have a notable impact on battery performance.
Apps and services running in the background. More or less same as above, but with more and more apps excluded from battery saving procedures and keep being active all day and night long, these will also have an impact on battery performance.
Other services like GPS being regularly active can also lead to a significant impact when it comes to the battery.

In order to proper compare SoT, you’d have to do some laboritory like conditions of the same device, with pretty much identical software.

When I go into battery optimizations, The battery usage of accubattery is restricted- it says.

But when I check settings, I have allowed it background usage.

What could be this about.

When I meant normal usage, i did not mean to measure sot, but only to drain the battery to 0. You can drain the battery however you want.

Haven’t done this with my phones at all and haven’t thought someone really does this🤔

I just don’t use anything else. Maybe that’s why, still for my “ultra light use” , is this good ?

11.1% /h is a bit over the top.

Mine is 6.5/h (but I’m a ultra light user ).

Mind sharing app wise usage as well ?(located a bit downward from this screen) so we can see what is draining this fast. There gotta be a background process (coz deep sleep is 2.2/h ??)

Also u can pull the quick settings down all the way and see if there are any active apps in the background.
