I am beyond frustrated with my experience with Nothing and its service.
I purchased the Nothing Phone (1) for ₹30,000 and was using it normally without any issues. Suddenly, out of nowhere, the screen went black. I tried multiple restarts, but it would only switch on after several attempts and then fail again.
I contacted Nothing support and followed all the troubleshooting steps they gave me (force restart, cache wipe, etc.). None of them worked, so I went to the Nothing service centre as advised.
That’s where things got worse:
They told me the motherboard is dead.
They quoted ₹20,000 for replacement – which is more than half the cost of the phone itself!
They still charged me ₹291, despite the issue not being resolved.
Most shocking of all, they could not even explain WHY the motherboard failed.
This is absolutely ridiculous service. How can a so-called flagship device’s motherboard fail under normal usage without any damage or mishandling? Clearly, this is a manufacturing defect, yet the company is putting the burden on the customer.
Instead of helping, Nothing is wasting my time, money, and trust. Charging customers more than half the phone’s price for repair of a core component, and on top of that charging ₹291 without even resolving the issue, is nothing but unfair and unacceptable.
I demand that Nothing take responsibility:
👉 Replace the motherboard free of cost OR provide a replacement device.
👉 Refund the ₹291 that was charged without resolution.
I trusted this brand when I bought the Phone (1), but now I feel cheated. This is not the kind of service or reliability I expected from a company that claims to deliver premium quality.
Has anyone else faced this issue with the motherboard?
