I’d like to share my recent experience regarding a Wi-Fi connectivity issue on my Nothing Phone 3.
Environment: Nothing Phone 3, Nothing OS 3.5 (Build: Metroid-V3.5-250829-1700-JPN)
Issue: When connected to my home Wi-Fi, overall response time was extremely slow. However, when using an external VPN service, the connection became fast and stable. Disconnecting the VPN caused the slowdown again. This issue affected all websites and apps, not just specific ones. Other Android devices on the same Wi-Fi did not show this problem.
Attempts to fix:
Changed DNS settings (same behavior).
Disabled the “Always keep mobile data on” developer option (temporary improvement only).
Suspected IPv6/MTU issues, but no definitive fix.
Today, I received and installed the new update (size ~280 MB). The changelog mentioned “Improve Wi-Fi connectivity and network stability.”
Since applying this update, the issue seems completely resolved in my environment. It has been over 4 hours, and I have not experienced any recurrence of the problem.
I’m posting this here to inform others who might have faced the same situation. If you had similar Wi-Fi instability on the Phone 3, please try the latest update and see if it fixes the issue for you as well.
