I’ve been a proud Nothing Phone (1) user for over two years. I genuinely loved this phone and always took extra care of it—charging only up to 80% to protect the battery and avoiding any rough use.
But on 22nd September 2024, something unexpected happened. I charged my phone, used it for just 10 minutes, and by the next morning, it was completely dead. No power, no boot, nothing.
I traveled 2 hours to the service center. They managed to get it working again for a minimal charge, but sadly, after just 1 hour of use, the exact same issue returned—the phone went dead again.
When I contacted the service center, I was told that the motherboard needs to be replaced, costing around ₹16–17k (almost 60% of the phone’s cost).
As a loyal Nothing fan, this was really heartbreaking. If it had been water damage or a drop, I would have understood. But for a phone I’ve maintained so carefully to fail like this is extremely disappointing.
At this point, I feel forced to consider shifting to another brand, even though I didn’t want to.
