Headphone 1 volume control issues with apple devices over USB-C connection.

I have been using Headphone 1 for more than a month, I like the stock EQ, I definitely have good ears and I have passed audiophile test many a times.

Headphone 1 is a great headset, little behind the comfort of the Bose ultra. it gives the exact specs I needed, USB-C connectivity and ANC while connected via USB-C. The major issue is I can not use the Headphone 1 with any apple devices (tried with Apple USB-C cables, Nothing USB-C cables and 3rd party premium USB-C cables) as the volume control is not working with USB-C connectivity on iPhone 16 Pro Max or iPad Pro 11inch M4 both using iOS 26. I have reported the issue on the Day 1 I have unboxed it as I have already using iOS developer beta. So far no fix was issued in firmware updates. There was no reply for the reports I have made.

I bought the Headphone 1 exclusively to enjoy the Apple Music Dolby Atmos over USB-C connectivity.

Unfortunately I am not using these headphones anymore. Did any one report this issue earlier or is nothing working on the fix? Also I tried DAC’s and apple USB-C to 3.5 adaptors, the volume is working with them but the volume output or the audio quality are not at all great.

I have this same issue. Headphone 1 , with an iPhone 17 Pro Max running the latest iOS.

When running over USB-C cable and not bluetooth, the volume buttons on the phone do nothing - the headphones are at 100% volume or 0%, there are no levels in between. The sound is otherwise perfect - clear and hi res - but it’s not comfortable to listen to at that volume for long.

Same issue, volume control is not working with iphone air when connected using usb-c

I can confirm the updated firmware fixes this issue (1.0.1.79). You need to pair over Bluetooth to run the update, but then you can go back to USB-C without issues.
