Nothing Gallery Gets Even Better

A few months ago, we updated our Nothing Gallery app with built-in image editing tools, focusing on enhancing photo editing capabilities. Now, we’re taking things further by introducing major upgrades to video editing. Now, you can do more than just trim clips, adjust volume from 0 to 100, or change slow-motion speed. Videos can be edited just like your photos, giving you full creative control. Basic Adjustments: 6 cropping and rotation tools Colour Grading: 12 tuning parameters to perfect your look Filters: 10 Nothing-designed filters with adjustable intensity from 0 to 100 You can fine-tune key video parameters - contrast, white balance, saturation, and more at full resolution with close to zero compression or quality loss. Everything is processed locally on-device, with no metadata removed or hidden post-processing. Subtle haptic feedback is built into every tool, making each adjustment precise and intuitive. The update begins rolling out on the Google Play Store today and will continue through tomorrow. And this is just the beginning; more exciting features are in the works.

Rather critical bug… Photos edited with the new Gallery app are saved CORRUPT and cannot be opened by anything aside from Nothing Gallery.

Try it, edit ANYTHING in Gallery and try opening the photo with: Google Photos, Nothing Photo Widget, Snapseed, Andoid File Explorer, windows photo viewer, literally any app other than gallery… Renders the Edit function useless until the bug is fixed.

Phone 2, btw.

Anonymous931 I’ve found that the new gallery only corrupts PNG files. Edit any old PNG and save a copy, the copy will be corrupt.

You can try yourself:

Download a PNG, any PNG works so long as it was NOT made with the new gallery app. Heres an example, download this nothing phone 1 picture: https://www.pngall.com/nothing-phone-1png/download/114916/
Copy it to documents folder
Open it in Nothing Gallery, select EDIT, then crop it slightly (any edit works) and save a copy.
Share or Open the edited picture in an external editer and it will crash. miXPlorer viewer CRASH, Google SnapSeed CRASH, other third party photo viewers CRASH.

Just tried that, no crashing here on (3a) but it’s messed up anyway lmao, the image gets saved so weirdly that it can’t be shown in full resolution for some reason (but it shows in full in the native Gallery app), it’s just a pixelated mess. So it’s broken, yeah (just not crashing for me, tried with several other apps and it’s the same, btw):

ChandraThapa Because google photos requires backup for most of its powerful features and you’ll have to pay for more than 15 gb storage to utilise backup

Which one? I just tested on non-backed up image and the only missing feature is that reimagine gimmick (those work only on backed up ones as far as I can tell) 🤔

Use Google Photos then? Why do you even need A"I" for photography? Sounds like you need to improve your photo taking skills instead of relying on A"I" edits to fix the mess for you 🤷‍♂️

Edit: Reimagine trash also works on offline/non-backed up images, it just doesn’t show on them without using the search (probably Google Photos bug):

Distilled Same here. Croped image is only shown in Nothing Gallery App and in Aves Gallery. Maybe it’s because of the transparent background, so the alpha channel handling is broken.

But things like face recognition and searching by keywords is only available with backup. It’s not that great in nothing gallery yet but I’m hoping it’ll get better
