Battery life in NOS Beta 4

So after the beta update, the battery life in My NP3 has been terrible. Just from scrolling around different apps took it from a 100% to 92%. 32 minutes since unplugging it from the Charger. Even with moderate use (no gaming or photos editing) the Charger won’t last a full day. I find myself plugging it almost 2 times a day.

That is just unacceptable.

I feel like this needs to be addressed in a beta update pretty soon if they don’t plan to reléase the official version this month

JochieSantiago im using np3 stable 3.5 and it’s works nice no issues right now also about battery it’s pretty nice I got 6 hours scrolling instagram reels compare to np1

JochieSantiago The same issue has been across devices, the phone 2a and 2a plus have the same issue, morning I charge my phone and within an hour it’s already at 85% earlier the battery life under heavy usage use to last a full day

The 3.5 Update already made terrible mistakes in battery life. If the 4.0 is really that bad, i wont update anything again.

I switched from Samsung to Nothing the first time because i liked all the idea. Even the “no top processor for more battery life” but still its pretty bad. In Whatsapp videocalls i loose like 1% per minute. this is insanly high if you ask me. A 15 minute talk with my parents on holyday and after that a 15 minute talk with a fried i lost 32%!! i only charge up to 80%.

NP3-User oh yeah, WhatsApp video calls drain battery pretty fast. Had a videocall just now which lasted like 45 minutes, took My Phone down from 79% to 64%. Currently charging it again to 100% . But it is insane the battery draining with the current software.

I also switched from Samsung (S24 Ultra) to Nothing because it was different. But battery optimization should be a basic thing to have in any Phone.

If Nothing wants to implement AI to its system, it should have an AI dedicated to battery and OS handling

I’m still getting round 10h SoT on a full-charge with a NP3 on NOS4beta.

Can you post what your app usage is?

Here’s a section going from 100 to a little above 50% with 5h41m SoT.

The battery life on my Phone 3 dropped significantly with beta 4. Here are my results with 3.5.

not really sure what to say. Our phones and apps are somewhat similar and I don’t churn through that much battery with WhatsApp video calls.

Are you doing anything strange with them, is that a screen recorder/essential recorder up top of your display.

If it was my phone, I would uninstall and reinstall WhatsApp.

CMF1_hacker it’s kind of a dynamic island. Although Ive been between keeping it and uninstalling it.

I think i light uninstall and reinstall WhatsApp just to see if that fixes something

I’m on 4.0 beta, haven’t really noticed significant changes battery wise

There is one other thing that I can think of, which is the thermal throttling in the latest revisions of NOS 3.5 that is lacking in NOS 4.0.

When running at 100% SoC for extended periods of time, the SoC is throttled for temps (which reduces battery usage).

Can you perform a video call via WhatsApp while tracking CPU/GPU usage and see if runs at 100% in WhatsApp.

When running at 100% CPU/GPU in NOS4B during benchmarking, I lose about 20% of battery in 20 minutes, which is around what you are experiencing with WhatsApp

So in a video call for 7 minutes, the cpu runs at 50% and battery heat rises up to 40°.

Outside of WhatsApp it runs at 35 to 28%

well, I don’t see how your getting that much battery drain then? Have you tried install an old version of WhatsApp.

also, is this WA version certified for A16?

CMF1_hacker Ive done all that. Uninstalled WhatsApp, installed a more recent version not available in Playstore, deleted that one, got back to the version i’m using now.

I Guess it should be certified for A16, but i havent tried a older version.
