Anonymous994 Sounds like you’re onto something. I’m not seeing any issues with those settings sticking, no matter what I do. However I also don’t have any Meta apps installed. No WhatsApp, Facebook, Messenger, Threads or Instagram.
JochieSantiago Anonymous994 those 3 settings are the only ones that change when opening and closing whatsapp. I wanted for someone else here thats on 4 beta 4 to help me and recreate the event to see if it happens to them. I don’t think it’s a Meta problem since FB and instagram don’t revert those settings. @CMF1_hacker i believe so. Anything WhatsApp related kills battery and apparently has a hand in switching only animation and motion settings. There is an adb command to disable that daemon for that specific option. Might have to run it to test that out.
CMF1_hacker JochieSantiago is the reason for your massive WhatsApp battery drain with live video, a dameon constantly assessing when the app is open?
CMF1_hacker JochieSantiago I’d be happy to test those settings on my NP3 is you tell me what they are as I use WhatsApp a ton.
JochieSantiago CMF1_hacker so go to developer settings and change the animations scale and duration, all 3 values to 0.5, then Open WhatsApp and exit it. Then check those values again to see if the revert back to 1
CMF1_hacker JochieSantiago I: Left developer settings and the stayed at 0.5x Went to WA as it was opened and they stayed Closed and reopened the app and they stayed Reset the phone and that wallpaper to homescreen animation was slow (don’t like) Went into developer settings and they’re 0.5x Started WA and closed it and it’s 0.5x Always like this: I’ll change it back now as that lockscreen to homescreen it too slow now.
JochieSantiago CMF1_hacker then it has to be either My WhatsApp or My build version as mine don’t have the EEA in i
JochieSantiago CMF1_hacker already tried it. Even installed a recent version thats not on Playstore. Nothing worked.
CMF1_hacker JochieSantiago I would restore all developer options to normal, i.e. factory mode. Essentially, there’s either a Dev option setting or an incomparable app that is causing WA to consume massive battery. I would remove any apps like that weird dynamic island you have that alter the screen profile as it might be incompatible with a full screen video app.
JochieSantiago CMF1_hacker already deleted the dynamic island app. And tried to restore developer settings. It continues to happen. Hopefully it’s fixed in the next update. As far as battery drain, i don’t know what else to do. I notice it happens with WhatsApp, and gaming apps like Clash Royale. Although CR is a gaming app so i get the battery usage, but WhatsApp is another messaging app so i don’t understand that behaviour.
