Fahad Pretty much. If I’m not forced to look at it / interact with it and can I disable it / remove it without pissing around with ADB.
I consider Nothing Gallery closer to bloatware than this, but even that can just be turned off and forgotten about.
When this feature comes to NP3 I’ll disable it (if it’s on by default) and never think about it again.
Edit:
Not that I’m in anyway endorsing or particularly happy about this feature. Right now, I think we have bigger things to worry about as a community.
Im giving Nothing the benefit of the doubt for now, that this is placeholder for an in-development feature (that arguably would have been better leaving to cook a bit longer).
But since the 3a users haven’t stopped clammoring for their version of the NOS4 beta, I wouldn’t be surprised if they shoved it out of the door as soon as it was stable to placate the more vocal users.
I guess it back-fired…
Further edit:
Ok, so this is confirmed as the start of “carefully curated” bloatware being added to mid-tier devices and is something I’m personally against, especially on devices that previously were bought bloat free. Do not like.
