When I first found out about Nothing, I was extremely surprised and interested by this brand.
Carl Pay, who has visited a large number of interesting companies and understands what the user needs (is it accurate?) Interesting design (I also include glyphs) Interesting OS But, here I have been walking with Nothing phone 2 for a year now, with Nothing ear 3 headphones (2024) and I caught the appearance of OS3, now I use OS4. Yes, the system is smooth. Yes, the phone is good. Yes, the headphones sound good.
But.
minor improvements are unnoticeable to me (as well as to most in the community, judging by the Nothing Community). I didn’t see anything new from os3 to os4, and in os4 I only saw a watch. They seem to be trying to develop some kind of IA for cool widgets there. I stopped feeling the OS as something incredible, now it’s commonplace. The NP3 was also disappointed, its design, its stuffing, as if they were afraid or unable to turn into real flagships with a normal design, for everyone, and not for “connoisseurs of curvature”, oh, “connoisseurs of something unusual”. Also my Nothing ear 3 (2024) (which for some reason was called Nothing ear, as if the company doesn’t understand why numbers are needed in the names and now the headphones of 2025 have received the number 3….) We lost the battery after a year of use, and the magnets under the headphones inside fell off. They don’t cling well to charging.
In general, a year later, I have very mixed feelings that encourage me to part with the brand rather than continue using it. Let’s see what NP4 gives us - it will be the key for me. It’s a pity that the fresh-looking pie turned out to be like this inside.
