Set up the personalized profile last night, for the uninitiated it uses a basic audiometry test to determine which frequency bands to boost and cut in each ear. I’m not yet sure if I like the results that came out of it, the upper treble in particular was a bit…fizzy for me on some songs, but I’ll give it a go for a few days and if I really end up not liking it I can always go back to @Tofu ’s 1.74 EQ which was still plenty satisfactory for me post-firmware update.

I’ve got Bass Enhancement set to 2 now where it was set to 1 before, I can perceive a difference, but it’s subtle. The main point of confusion for me is that the volume is noticeably lower when listening to a wired source, either USB-C or 3.5mm.

All I can say is the max volume is low, the bass enhancement doesn’t work, and the new personal sound errors out in my app.

So sad. Personal Sound is good, but the Head phone still sounds bad than before, Especially the Bass.

Please bring back the punchy and bassy sound from the oldest firmware.
Or at least leave the choice to the user, or the ability to roll back to the oldest firmwares (where the sound was GREAT) 😭

Sad to see the bass enhancement still isn’t working, although I don’t use it myself.

For me, the personal audio really fixed the sound signature and it added back a nice amount of low end without making them sound muddy. Really enjoying listeninf to them again now. But that’s just me, Nothing needs to step up and fix the issues others are having still.

After the update, all my favorite EQ presets stopped working. Compared to the new features, the old sound was much better. Now it just sounds like I'm banging on plastic. I'm heartbroken.

The bass is still not working on my side either…

It's just pure theory/movie, but maybe after — or even before — the 74, they were already quite advanced with the personal sound, and that’s what kept the team stuck with the bass issue.

If the personal sound actually changes the behavior of the sound, maybe it’s better to first have a working version of it.

They might have told themselves, “If we fix the bass and the personal sound starts crackling again, then we’re back to zero with a new bass problem…”

velocitypulse You could be right, the sad thing is that we don't know anything, they don't update us and who knows maybe the sound is going to be like that forever (I hope not).

The fact that they are not even addressing the sound/bass and reduced volume issue is just sad.

Just a confirmation that they are working on it would be great. I really hope they can roll back the sound as it was when they were released…

kokos_ I emailed them got this reply:

"Our team continuously works on firmware improvements. The latest updates (such as version 1.0.1.43 and beyond) have specifically addressed bass enhancement and audio optimization."
