Hello everyone,
I wanted to share a frustrating experience I’ve had recently with the Nothing (and associated CMF) brand. I consider myself an enthusiast; I've purchased at least 4 or 5 products from them, drawn in by their innovative design and the brand's promises.
However, when it comes to their wireless earbuds, I've unfortunately encountered a recurring pattern of quality issues that has completely put me off buying anything further from the company.
A String of Earbud Failures
First Earbuds: (Nothing: Ear) After a few months (maximum half a year), one of the earpieces became noticeably quieter. The service couldn't fix the issue under warranty, so the retailer refunded the price. I used that money to buy the next pair.
Second Earbuds: (Nothing Ear (2)) Unfortunately, this model developed the exact same fault – one side going quiet – in an even shorter time frame. I was very careful with them, never dropped them, and always kept them in the case, using them as intended. The service confirmed the defect again, leading to another full refund.
Third Earbuds (Nothing CMF Buds 2): My last attempt was four months ago with the earbuds resulting from the CMF and Nothing collaboration. A few days ago, a new quality problem emerged: the adhesive for the black mesh material located behind the ear tip gave way and detached.
Now, I'm waiting for the service center to assess the damage for the third time. Till that, I cannot use any earbuds to commune to work, so it is a huge loss.
Conclusion: A Lost Customer
Frankly, this consistent run of bad luck – three pairs of earbuds, three distinct quality failures – has completely eroded my trust in the brand.
I understand that defects can happen, but such a clear pattern (failing sound and now a physical defect) suggests that there might be serious issues with quality control.
The aesthetics and marketing don't matter if the product can't withstand daily use. I am highly hesitant to choose any other product from Nothing or CMF in the future and will likely be wary of similar devices from them due to the quality issues mentioned above.
