AOD placement changes with time (inconsistency)

I saw something for some days that the AOD (Always on Display) changes it position, like in the morning it was way up and now it's 22:00 it's in the middle, is it's purposeful or an inconsistency?

It saves battery and phone's life maybe you should off that feature of aod as I think in my opinion would decrease the phone's or the battery's life

Kaman_anand Since it's an amoled screen and the text is at very low brightness, it will barely use 3% battery a day

Kaman_anand Everything which lights up drains the battery, even the Glyph lights have a tiny impact on battery life.

The AoD neither hurts the longevity of the screen (hence the moving content) nor the battery. It's just another small consumer when it comes to power.

By the way when the phone is being faced screen down, the AoD gets automatically disabled anyways. It also gets disabled if the proximity sensor is covered, so if you habe it inside a pouch or pocket, chances are fairly high it's disabled.

Coldpaw Hmm now I wanna know if the proximity sensor being permanently on makes a difference. I assume mistouch prevention and auto brightness also keeps it on

Anonymous1004 It's not really always on, you can check it yourself by covering the upper part of the screen once AoD kicks in:

It takes a couple of seconds until the screen really goes dark. However it lights up right away the moment you actually remove your hand. It gets dimmed first due to the brightness sensor.
