Recent apps getting cleared after a few hours

I noticed that my recent apps are getting removed automatically after a few hours, generally overnight.

I found that this is related to some battery optimisation in the newer Android versions but didn't find any option to fix it in my Nothing Phone 3. Any idea on how to fix this without impacting the battery life? I generally clear the apps manually as per my need and don't want to get anything closed automatically.

I strongly dislike this "feature" too especially when disabling Battery Optimisation is not always respected or adhered to. Other vendors have a "Lock App" feature to keep them open in the background but unfortunately Nothing don't currently seem inclined to adopt it.
