Hi everyone, I’d like to share a concept I created that could improve the current one-handed mode in Nothing OS.
I first experienced this kind of one-handed mode on my old Vivo phone running Funtouch OS, where the whole display simply shrinks instead of being cut in half. I remembered this last week while using my Nothing 3a during a bus ride. I was standing, because my other hand was holding onto the handrail since the bus was full and I had to stand.
Nothing’s current one-handed mode is similar to the iPhone approach, where the screen is pulled down but essentially cut in half. The problem is that it becomes hard to see the app properly, and some apps don’t work well with that layout.
My concept fixes this by shrinking the entire display and placing it in either the bottom-left or bottom-right corner, without cutting the screen in half. This keeps the whole interface visible and makes apps fully usable while still making everything easy to reach with one hand.
I think this would be really helpful for people like me who often use their phone with one hand—especially in situations like commuting or standing in a crowded bus.
