Today we are releasing two major upgrades to Essential Space. Both are designed to make capturing, understanding and revisiting your moments feel more natural. This update introduces Essential Memory and a completely new Flip to Record experience that supports richer context.
🧠 Essential Memory
Essential Memory is now how Essential Space and Essential Search work together.
Until now, Essential Space saved what you added. With Memory, it begins to understand the meaning behind those moments. When you add screenshots, links, notes or photos to Essential Space, they become memories your phone can recognise and recall when you need them.
You can ask your phone naturally, and Essential Search brings back the moment with the most relevant context.
Example
You save a poster from a design fair and tag it “April events”.
Weeks later you ask:
“Is there anything interesting happening next month?”
Essential Search brings that poster back instantly.

- Memory understands it.
- Search retrieves it.
Everything works together as one simple and intuitive system.
🎙️ New Flip to Record
Flip to Record now supports much richer session capture. You can record audio as always, and you can now add far more context without leaving the recording page.
📸 Add photos while recording
You can take or upload photos during a recording. Images appear on the timeline so every visual moment stays aligned with what you captured in audio.
📝 Add typed notes during recording
You can type your thoughts while recording. These notes appear in the same timeline to help you revisit ideas easily.

📄 Improved Details Page
After ending a recording, you can review everything in one timeline including audio, photos and text notes.
🤖 AI support after recording
When finished, you can get an AI summary, a full transcription and action items created from your audio, images and notes.
Flip to Record now provides a complete workflow inside Essential Space.
How to get the update
If auto-update is turned on, Essential Space will update automatically.
If not, go to the Google Play Store and update Essential Space manually.
Both Essential Memory and the new Flip to Record feature are available starting today and will roll out gradually.
