The newly released Nothing OS 4.0 seems to be based on initial release (‘QPR0’) of Android 16, not the QPR1.
Although the new status bar icons and behaviors, notification animations are that of Material 3 Expressive in QPR1, the Android version itself is presumably based on QPR0. I checked it by looking for features specific for AOSP QPR1, such as less intrusive ongoing call notifications, magnify keyboard, and most inportantly, full support for ‘Live updates’.
You can check it out yourself by triggering Android 16 easter egg and setting the autopliot mode on: The live update notifications are there in the bottom of notifications, but it doesn’t show up as proper progress bars and status bar chips.

[Full implementation of Live updates in QPR1]
While I understand that there weren’t enough time for implementation of QPR1 in the initial Nothing OS 4.0 release (since the QPR1 source was published only about two and a half weeks ago, at November 11), I urge Nothing OS development team to rebase on Android 16 QPR1 (or QPR2 if it is released) in future Nothing OS 4 updates such as 4.2 or 4.5.
QPR1 update not only brings under-the-hood stability enhancements and bug fixes, but also some user-sided changes and new features. Full support for live updates in QPR1 is especially essential for Nothing phone users since the new Glyph progress integrates to live updates features and elevate user experience.
I appreciate that the Material 3 Expressive UX elements were ported and integrated properly to Nothing OS 4.0 even if it is based on QPR0. I also appreciate the fact that they released stable versions of NOS 4.0 simultaneously on every older Nothing phones, including the (2A) and (2).
In light of that, I ask once again to Nothing OS development team to implement QPR1 in future Nothing OS updates since it will greatly enhance user experience. Thank you.
