Seeing multiple users (including me) facing two major problems after updating to Nothing OS 4.0:
1. Private Space apps not updating
Apps added to Private Space fail to update in Play Store and show up under “update failed,” exposing all private apps.
If this behaviour is expected, these apps shouldn’t appear in Play Store at all. Right now it’s broken.
2. Background activity blocked for locked apps
When a locked app is minimized, its background tasks stop within 1–2 minutes.
Examples: WhatsApp backup stops, Telegram downloads pause, any ongoing uploads/downloads get interrupted.
Temporary workarounds:
Keep the app in a floating window to avoid download/backup interruptions
Lock Private Space only after a reboot so Play Store updates work
Clearly something is off with access management in OS 4.0. Customer support is giving generic replies, so posting here to get visibility. Please tag the team who can look into this.
