For the last several weeks I’ve noticed that CMF Watch will merge notifications, especially from GMail, if I receive two or more messages without checking the messages or swiping away the notifications on the phone (e.g. “2 new messages” or “3 new messages”). This is not helpful if I need to know who is sending me something or might need a response without getting the phone out and looking at it (you know, one of the purported benefits of having a watch to quickly glance at instead).
Has anybody else noticed this? Is there a workaround? Or is this one more feature-bug of Android enshittification we “just have to live with” (a feature-bug that seems designed to keep us on our phones)? It’s bad enough that Android’s Doze Mode makes it so that I often don’t know WHEN someone is trying to get in touch, but now I can’t even know WHO?
