Background noise heard during acappella songs

the squelching sound is of course always there, you just only notice when the song has quiet periods or its just vocals. its not clean or quiet like it should be.

i turned off high quality, noise cancelling etc but its still there. It reminds me of being able to hear the processors leakage through my laptop speakers.

i should add that i hear this from dell laptop, samsung phone etc, as i did wonder if it was the transmitting device.

And ive tried many different audio and from both spotify, youtube etc incase it was on the source. I dont hear this on my bose or samsung buds.

i now find that its made more obvious with personal sound profile turned on. hardly noticable when its off but you know its there once youve heard it

I believe I may have experienced something similar to yourself. While I would describe mine as a type of “squelching” it was more of a sharp metallic scratching sound and that would fluctuate, especially during higher frequency and louder sounds.

For me this was resolved by switching off LHDC, but was permanently resolved in an update that came out not too long after.

If you haven’t already done so, make sure your firmware is up to date and experiment with LHDC settings.

Failing that I would suggest getting in touch with support.

thanks for the reply, i tried turning of lhdc as part of my process of eliminiation. it was only when i turned off personal sound profile that i noticed it considerably reduced the issue. So i of course have this turned off all the time now (haha) but i still notice that its there when you listen to something like adele etc (something not with lots of other masking sounds)

I notice the same - i would call it “digital artefacts” - when personal sound profile is turned on. Sounds like too much processing is going on.

I discovered it while listening to “Dynamite” by Sigrid. Her voice sounds perfect, but the piano gets completely ruined, especially during the intro.

Its sad, because i love the personal sound but with these artefacts its not usable for me. I really hope this can be fixed with an update.
