Why do I keep seeing this font?!

Since updating to OS 4, a lot of my apps, when I go to do text input, show up in this crazy font that I can’t seem to fix. Attached are two screenshots from two different apps. I’m dying here. Can anyone tell me how to fix this? Thanks so much (the one screenshot is from a note-taking app the other is from email. All my mails look like this, not just the one from this user.)

RichardMulholland You are not the first one I’ve seen with a similar font rendering but.

You could try the following fixes:

Clear the apps cache by long pressing and clicking on “App Info”;
Force Android to use the default font: go into Settings > Display > Font and display size. Select again the default font;
Reboot your device;
Check for any updates for your apps.

If none of these work, report the bug through Settings > System Feedback
