Nothing Phone 3A not connecting to PC for file transfer

I am facing an issue while trying to transfer files from my Nothing Phone (3a) to my PC using a USB data cable.

This is my first time connecting this phone to a PC. The phone charges normally when connected, but it does not connect for file transfer. I have tried the following steps:

Used 4 different USB data cables
Tested other brand phones with the same PC and cables (they work fine)
Updated all USB and system drivers on my PC
Enabled USB debugging on my phone
Tried different USB ports on the PC

Despite this, my Nothing Phone does not show up on the PC, and no file transfer option appears.

Since charging works but data transfer does not, I am concerned that there may be an issue with the phone’s USB port or USB data functionality.

Please guide me on how to resolve this issue or let me know if this requires inspection or repair.

You should have a notification to switch mode to Data Transfer

If you don’t, try another cable

IlyaAliev I’d say it’s almost impossible to connect Android with MacOS and iOS with Windows🤷🏼‍♀️ like no way. Maybe audio products can connect to Apple’s OS, but phones is highly unlikely

I face the exact same issues on the Phone 3. Apart from my PC I have a laptop running Windows on ARM though and interestingly, it seems to work perfectly fine on that one. I guess it’s some driver incompatibility for Windows x64 machines unfortunately…

UPDATE:

Okay appearantly I managed to get a connection with my PC. Turns out that 2 out of 10 USB ports on my PC seem to work while the others don’t. One of which is USB 2.0, the other 3.0 so it’s not related to USB versions.

So perhaps it is really necessary to try EVERY port you have. I hope this helps.

I found the solution for me. try this may be worked for you too.

first plug in your phone with data supportive cable with pc or laptop

go to device manager

look for portable device

for me nothing 4a ( mobile name A069) may different for other nothing model

If portable device not there. click on view at top and show hidden devices. you will get portable device option in device manager.

right click on your device model shown there (for me A069)

click on update driver

then browse my computer for drivers

again click on let me pick from a list of available drivers on my computer

there shows model MTP USB device, select this and click on next

it says windows has successfully updated your drivers

hope this will work for you guys.
