Hey, everyone! Wishing all a happy 2026 ahead! Let’s use this as the megathread for the wishlist for the upcoming year. This thread is all about suggesting cool new features, fixes, and improvements for Nothing OS as we move beyond version 4.0. The Nothing team has been super receptive and open to user feedback, so this is our chance to make our voices heard. "I am facing an issue with the Nothing CMF 2 Pro. Unlike other phones, there is no fingerprint animation when using the sensor. I would like to request that an animation be added to the fingerprint authentication process. Please assist with this in your next update.

GaneshSonavane_T78GrdK2qX I like the initial list, but I think that taking out Essential Space from the Essential Key entirely is a little harsh. I was thinking that while the phone is locked, then you could have those shortcuts.

Why the pop up menu on quick Bluetooth settings shows only when I already paired my buds? I have only one Bluetooth device, so that menu is completely useless for me.

I feel like such things like mobile network sim change or wifi choosing process also have their pop up menues, but I don’t understand how to summon them. May be that processes are not so important or often, but I think user must have control on them.

Here’s my suggestion:

Pop up menues needs their own gestures, like long press or double tap. So you can use quick setting button for on/off action or summon the context menu for extra.

Please add an option to customize the lock screen clock colors in a future update. Right now, there’s no way to change the clock color, while many other Android phones already offer this level of customization. It would be great to have more clock styles and personalization options as well.

Nothing OS has a very clean and unique design, but adding clock color customization would make the experience feel even more premium and personal. Many users would love the ability to match the clock style and colors with their wallpaper and overall theme.

Please consider bringing these customization features to the latest devices, including the Nothing Phone (2a), in upcoming updates.

The way widgets are implemented across os is unintuitive, i should be able to apply all the widgets on home screen and lockscreen (even essential widgets)

Like if I want to play snake game on lockscreen

I should be able to add it on lockscreen, i should also be able to essential widgets on lockscreen (the home screen only application is very limited)

& another request for the nothing os team

Please allow me to set animated gifs on the photos widget on home and lockscreen.

As a Nothing Phone 2a user, I’d love to see the Glyph Interface used more actively during data transfers.

It would be really useful if Glyph lights could show real-time progress during:

Nearby Share transfers

App/file downloads

Instead of only showing static notifications or timers, the Glyph could visually represent progress (like a filling or segment-based animation from 0–100%). This would make transfers more intuitive and fit Nothing’s unique design language perfectly.

Even a simple progress animation using existing Glyph zones would make the experience feel more premium and interactive on the 2a.

Feature Request

Transparent & Animated gifs in photos widget
A extreme power/power saving mode, something Chinese manufacturer coolpad had, where all but essential services were on, but everything else was stopped, I don’t know if they did something kernel level, but it really extended the battery life by a lot
A Screen time limiter of shorts, that allows me to set a screentime goal, and then switches to a dumbphone like interface, which only unlocks the next day
An open-source implementation of Brick app, almost all nothing phones have NFC, why not create a implementation where I can scan a physical nfc lock/unlock distracting apps? (Brick already exists, but nothings mission is similar so maybe there is something nothing can do here)
Search anywhere using gesture, like Mac Os Spotlight like search, that allows me to search the entire os from any screen, from apps to notes (essential search like), gesture could be bottom right/left edge of the phone, the other edge is left for Gemini/assistant etc
A Single use mode, imagine like if I want to use my phone only for listening to music, i should be able to switch to that mode easily, and we can have a cool front end that makes my device into a Ipod-esque device (this could be assigned to essential button)
A no processing mode for camera app, which just shoots RAW, with No Processing, like zero cam but built into the stock camera
Ability to apply film filters to videos, and better UX for filters, something that is faster, current implementation feels like an after thought.
More launcher customisation, community sharing of “looks”, where users can share customisation settings like we do camera presets, audio profile etc.

I know it’s a long list, some ideas overlap

But would be cool if we could get some of these features!

Aryan-Chauhan Would love to see further temperature improvements especially when using android auto. The scenario using maps, wireless android auto, maybe another app for driving, charging the phone (wirelessly) really heats the phone up.

Also: Consider making it possible to enable battery saver-mode whilst charging. This throttles CPU performance and could benefit in the scenarion mentioned above.

Also I’d like a setting about the app lock: I want the option to see the content of some notifications i get from locked apps instead of hiding it in general.
