This thread is all about suggesting cool new features, fixes, and improvements for Nothing OS as we move beyond version 4.0. The Nothing team has been super receptive and open to user feedback, so this is our chance to make our voices heard. I’d love to see a System-wide “Speech Isolation ” AI Filter on Nothing OS.

The Concept: A simple toggle to isolate human speech and remove background audio in real-time across the OS, ensuring focus on the spoken word.

How it could work:

Use a Low-latency Buffer (50 -100ms) to filter audio before it reaches the speakers.

Offload the task to the NPU / DSP to save battery and prevent overheating .

Disable recording/saving while active to make it a “live-only” accessibility feature for content rights.

A unique solution to redefine how we interact with audio, prioritizing clarity and focus above all.

Hi Nothing Team,

I am using Nothing Phone (3a).
I noticed that there is no option to disable Mobile Data & Wi-Fi access for individual apps (like “Mobile data & Wi-Fi” or per-app network toggle).

I want to permanently block internet access for multiple apps using system settings only, without using:

VPN apps
Firewall apps
Root

Is this feature intentionally removed in Nothing OS?

If not, please consider adding a per-app internet toggle (Wi-Fi + Mobile Data) similar to stock Android / other OEMs.

This is very important for privacy, battery saving, and parental control.

Nothing os not have theme store. They have one nothing theme os. We don’t change theme and lockscreen.

I really only have one thing, which is having the software support for NP2 to the same 5 year OS updates as NP3. As NP2 will never be able to run Essential space which is AI dependant, the older chipset should be able to handle the less taxing duty of staying smooth and still be up to date OS wise sans newer AI features which isn’t really a factor for those like me who hold on to older hardware.

Most of the time I find myself putting my phone in landscape (or horizontal) way on the phone stand. But the AOD is vertical. It will be a great update to add a Landscape format AOD, because almost every time I check I click on the screen to activate the AOD, I have to turn my head to look for time or messages.
I am user of Nothing phone 3a.
Hope this is a good idea 🙂

Hey! 👋

So all I’m asking about is a ultra power saver feature to be introduced in next software update whenever that is , I mean nothing did have a battery savor but it’s kinda bad

Other phone companies have inbuilt ultra save that only makes important apps like phone whatsapp or selective apps work and switch everything off like bluetooth and gps

Sure i could just turn off that things myself and to do so but if nothing implements it then it would be much different cuz u could disable other background app works , or just black out entire screen except these emergency apps and really save power

I’m hoping u would introduce something like this and looking forward to do so

Feature Request: Add “Hide notification content” toggle to App Lock

Hi everyone,

So i have been using the Nothing 3a for about 7 months now and there is a issue with the “App Locker” feature that’s been bugging me

I’d like to suggest an QOL improvement to App Lock in Nothing OS.

Current Issue:

When App Lock is enabled for apps (Messages, WhatsApp, etc.), notification content is automatically hidden everywhere, even when the device is unlocked. Notifications only show “You have a new message” without showing the sender or content.

This Is Frustrating as i makes me to unlock those apps to read the messages even when i dont want to. I Can’t see who messaged or what they said without unlocking the appSuggested

Feature:

Add a toggle in App Lock settings: “Hide notification content” (On/Off)

On: Current behavior where it hides the Notification content. (max privacy)
Off: Show notification content while still requiring authentication to open the appThis would let users balance privacy and usability based on their needs.

Device: Nothing Phone (3a), Nothing OS 4.0, Android 16

Psa: I’ve already enabled options like Show sensitive notifications / show notification content in system settings, and checked other notification-related settings, but App Lock still forces notification previews to stay hidden.

Also, i have sent the feedback through the phone’s internal feedback option.

What’s my proposal is …

To give an extra option where user can turn off usb plugin when the device is locked or switch off.

Option to disable bot option ( vol up + power)
