_Qx_xSqU9uJFVZ that is definitely more legible. How did you root it to show that way? It’s definitely a better option for when I inevitably update. I just prefer it next to the battery honestly. I would love to have the option to show it either inside or next to the battery icon.

Two major bugs in Essential Notifications on the Glyph Matrix that worked in version 3.5. I reported them in the October beta and they’re still broken in January!!! They haven’t been fixed and I haven’t been informed by technical support. I’ll send this one more time…

ERROR 1:
I have a rule where, if I receive a notification from the “SmartLife” app in which I receive a notification from a specific app that contains a specific word (Word: “door opened”), it is triggered.

What happens?

I receive the first “Door opened” notification and the Glyph Matrix essential notification works correctly.
I receive a second consecutive “Door opened” notification and the essential notifications disappear until I delete the received notifications by going into the status bar notifications.

Due to some bug, when TWO IDENTICAL NOTIFICATIONS are received, the first one works fine, but with the second one (without deleting the first notification or touching the phone), this second notification is not reflected in the Glyph Matrix essential notification.

ERROR 2:

Once again, we are having problems with WhatsApp essential notifications. This is a bug I reported and that was fixed , but it has returned with the NOS4.0 beta version.

I receive a message from a person for whom I have set a rule (App: WhatsApp – specific contact) – OK.

Then I receive another message in a WhatsApp group and the essential notification disappears. If you look at the screen, all WhatsApp messages appear as essential notifications, when in reality only one should appear.

I discovered (already in Nothing OS 3.5 before the updates that temporarily fixed it) what is causing the problems with WhatsApp essential notifications.

I created a VERY SIMPLE WhatsApp rule: only “Message notifications” (disabling all other notification types to avoid conflicts). I selected a specific contact: “Alba”.

Alba’s essential notifications work PERFECTLY as long as she sends a private WhatsApp message.

When does it fail? When you receive a message from Alba in a group. Even though it doesn’t meet the rule, both private and group messages from Alba are grouped into the same notification bubble on the home screen as an “Essential Notification”, when they shouldn’t be.
Result? The Glyph Matrix stops working until you dismiss that grouped notification and Alba stops sending messages in that group.

I REPEAT, everything was perfect in version 3.5 after several reports, and now EVERYTHING IS BROKEN AGAIN, and it’s been like this for 2 months.

Well it’s been days since the nothing OS update for the nothing phone 3 in December, which added a design upgrade which added the battery percentage to be seen in the battery level indicator. I think that feature is quite minimalistic and I want that on my nothing phone 3a too, well I know that the nothing software team has put a very little job in developing the new nos 4 update, so I hope that they bring something new this time.

There should be a rotate button at the bottom left of the screen when you turned off auto rotation. It should appear on the screen whenever the phone detects rotation. but after updating to 4.0, it doesn’t show up whenever I’m in full screen of video or anything. Anyone have the same problem?

Hi everyone,

After updating to Android 16, I’ve been facing random crashes on my Nothing Phone (3), especially during calls. While on a call, the phone suddenly starts making a continuous beep sound and then crashes, taking around 2–3 minutes to reboot.

I’ve experienced this multiple times, and it seems to be a consistent issue rather than a one-off.

Has anyone else faced this problem or found a workaround/solution?

I still don’t dare to update to OS4 😅 I was hoping January update was ok fixing everything, but seems there are still some issues with essential notifications which is the feature I love the most.

Stereobasic it’s a shame really as this is the party piece of the NP3 depending on whether or not they’re coupled with the glyph matrix.

Otherwise, it’s super smooth and a nice fluid update from the 3.5 it shipped with.
