HeyCam: Zero-Processing Manual Camera with Glyph Matrix Support!

Hi Everyone,

I wanted to share a project I’ve been working on that finally brings deep, functional integration to the Nothing Phone (3). As an hobbyist photographer and tech educator, I was tired of aggressive AI over-processing, so I built HeyCam—a minimalist camera app dedicated to “unprocessed reality.”

With the latest update, HeyCam transforms into a creative studio tool with features specifically designed for the Nothing ecosystem:

Glyph Matrix Integration: Real-time (3…2…1) countdowns and custom “Finish Patterns” displayed directly on the rear LED Matrix using the com.nothing.ketchum SDK.
Professional Intervalometer: Full control over shots and intervals with a dedicated floating HUD and auditory feedback.
Zero-Processing RAW: Capture pure sensor data. No AI sharpening, no forced noise reduction—just what the lens sees.
Creative Suite: Support for custom .cube LUTs and .png frames that intelligently adapt to your device orientation.
Manual Controls: Support for manual controls over Shutter Speed and ISO values.

I built this for those who want to take back control from the “AI-enhancement” trend and actually use their Nothing hardware to its full potential.

just installed it on my cmf p2pro, i really liked the ui and the minimal functionality, the frames are pretty nice and well thought.

some issues i encountered were;

when i was capturing RAW image, the output had a loads of green tint, is it normal? i never faced it in stock camera RAW mode,

also i think it’s missing flash for night time shots,

and i’d really like to enable my secondary telephoto lens if it’s possible through camera2api.

overall i think this has a great potential with some more few tweaks, and once again i really really loved the UI of this app!

( or maybe it’s just cause I’m using cmf ( the issues ))

edit:

one more issue or bug i suppose, while rotating the camera it stretches the viewfinder instead of rotating it.

Candan i really likeed it on my cmf phone 2 pro cuz i hate the processed colours but the one think I want is to add a zoom feature and if not full zoom the option for the telephoto lens will be good.

ummorok I think I fixed the RAW Green Tint issue. I am not 100% certain because I couldn’t test it out with any other device than my Nothing Phone 3. Please test it and let me know.
I added flash support, hope you enjoy it.
For telephoto lenses, I have no way of reaching to the secondary cameras in devices unfortunately. I tried so many ways, but couldn’t due to the manufacturers limitations. If anybody knows how I can do it, I will try to include it in the future.
Rotation is disabled now as I intended. But the photos you take will be saved as landscape as the sensor is already providing that information.

Glyph matrix only displays information if the timer is activated. Set the timer, turn your phones back and see the numbers counting down.

I’m on the latest update but I don’t see any of the glyph animations though.

Besides that, love that the UI is clean and the app is open source. I think this app can do numbers if more people know about it.

Maybe you can also add a shutter effect for the glyph when it takes a photo just like with the default camera app

Candan Hey! yes the RAW green tint issue is fixed now.

one more suggestion would be to be able to see the last image captured in the gallery icon below and Absolutely thanks for fixing the tint issue , Great App!

I disabled the zoom option as I couldn’t access to telephoto lenses. Digital zoom on main camera would make the photo look unappealing, but I will think about it.
