Install additional fonts on NothingOS

Hi Nothing Commnity,

Is there a way to install extra fonts to pick from under Display settings? The default Roboto and Inter are so similar there is basically no difference, so it would be nice to get more to choose from.
I understand from a compatibility standpoint that letting users install any font they want could be a problem due to potentially missing characters in some cases or emotes showing up as blank rectangles. But most popular fonts these days cover most uses cases now from what I have seen changing my system fonts on Linux.

LanaAvanna yeah they should make more fonts. If they think it will affect the minimalistic theme of NOS then they should include their Ndot55, Ndot57, SpaceGrotesk fonts to NOS. The fonts also look minimalistic and give a variety of fonts for the user to select

There is an app called ‘zFont3’ in play store which basically allows a user to change a phone’s font. Currently, nothing phones aren’t supported yet so the phone has to be rooted to perform the installation of custom fonts.

Ah, rooting is a no-go for me as I rely on a few banking apps to make payments and whatnot on my phone ;-;

I think rooting aside, there is no way ro change fonts on Nothing OS at the moment.

Hehe I also would like to. I thought about two ways of changing font: first is to change emojis to One UI style and second is to change to my brand font (Didact Gothic). But if that’s not allowed, then well🤷🏼‍♀️ I don’t wanna root my phone because I wanted to do it with previous devices and I was a deep customisation nerd🫣

Although I think something good needs to be added to that point from Nothing. At one hand I can understand that move. See it as a natural desire to show us all how minimalist UI should look. So they’re trying to, maybe, “help” people (us) to understand its clean aesthetic and like prevent from spoiling it. Just my thoughts😂

themountofmint It sucks that Nothing views minimalism as only having essential features available, when it should be essential defaults and letting power users tweak a specific thing. Kinda like Windows 11 Powertoys

Yeah, OneUI easily allows to change the fonts, at least those purchased online via Samsung store. I kind of wish Nothing would also let us easily customize the font, however I can kind of understand why they don’t.

On my Galaxy Fold 4 I am using a Benguiat type of font, well know as the typography used for the Stranger Things title and I always enjoy seeing it on my Fold, wish I could also adapt it for my Phone (3).

KasiVishwa Even something like Ubuntu font or Lexend font will make the UI have a nice look while still being minimal, those two fonts are smooth and consistent!
