I never bought any Nothing Phone or accessories, but by looking YouTube videos of various creators, I also want to become Nothing product user. But after looking smartphones which are launched in 2024 i am expecting Nothing Phone 3 should have,

1) Better cameras (with Telephoto Lens)

2) Better IP Ratings.

Better pricing in India. ( As after few months of launch price drops.)

Everything sounds great. In addition to having a special focus on the audio category, I suggest that, in the field of smartphones, Nothing has a special focus on camera quality. It is a very important section for millions of people that can even define whether they buy one phone or another.

I mean, there are people who buy Google Pixel phones only for camera quality, especially the ‘non-Pro’ version that usually offer best-camera performance in the $600-yish segment. Nothing could attack that segment too.

I am quite happy with the overall experience using the phone (2), but we all know that the camera can be better and the sensor has a lot of potential as you can get amazing results even in low light by adjusting some parameters in Pro mode, which in automatic mode can result in photographs with washed out details or buggy HDR for close-ups on dark-toned subjects (including pets and objects).

Also, regarding software, I would like to eventually see an official Nothing Gallery app.

Carl How does Nothing plan to incorporate AI into their devices? In current times, not keeping up with the trends can only hurt the brand as others are moving forward. At the same time, I don’t want to see AI in everything. Maybe do something like what the browsercompany did? They were small but useful changes

Secondly, what I’d really like is for N to work on improving the sound quality from the earpiece & bottom speaker( no bass & distortion presently) to the max extent that the hardware quality permits.

Perhaps involve an outside expert, like the way DMS was for ear 2?

Next, plz plz optimise the performance of at least the main camera-IMX 890.

Again,plz hire an outside expert to help out.

IMHO, these are the major lackings in the NP2.

Lastly, plz do something to upgrade the quality, expertise & responsiveness of your service centres pretty subpar at present.

Samsung has already announced that those features will be paid for starting in 2026, users will have them free until the end of 2025. This indicates that it is really expensive to develop and maintain them so it is unlikely that we will see something like this until Nothing is much bigger.

Carl How do you plan to integrate AI into your growing ecosystem of products and services?
A software solution could be an opportunity to experiment creatively without having to risk betting on new hardware. I am not talking about following the trend and adding tempting AI features but about simplifying the user experience and trying to solve the problem of the current app-based OS and the distractions that come with it.

When will you launch collaborations with other rising startups like The Browser Company, Perplexity or Rabbit?

Jean It’s more likely that Samsung is waiting until the end of 2025 to study the market (and how will competitors do), whether they’ll go into subscriptions or just let those features be free. In the meantime, they can develop more features or services that would make a subscription more reasonable.

Hi Carl, As you mentioned the progress made in the technologies like the batteries etc. And you guys gonna break the barriers with something innovative. Is there a way to break the battery barrier? Like something completely new in the battery field. or is there a barrier or something put down by the OG companies holding that innovative front?

And also eagerly waiting for the new change in the design front as we know that phone3 could boast a completely new design compared to phone 1 & 2.

Carl Hello Carl, it’s a pleasure to read you. My question was about whether you have thought about the future of how we interact with electronic gadgets. In my opinion, I think that this is something towards which we should advance more in the coming years, in how, as people, we can interact better and more efficiently with our electronic devices. I believe that nowadays almost anyone can get a device powerful enough to do almost anything without worrying about its power, and the key should be in how to make devices help us more and better, whether it be through predictions, AI, interfaces, integration, etc… What is your opinion on this at Nothing? Do you have any innovative approaches in this field?

Looking at the most recent launches of Apple (iPhone 14 > 15) and Samsung (S23 > S24) and based on this part you wrote:

Our industry is ripe for new innovation and excitement. Startups, who usually have the role of testing new ideas and innovating, have a hard time participating in this industry due to its high barriers to entry.

I have a two-fold question:

How have the dominant companies in this industry shifted their strategy from breakthrough innovation to steady innovation and can you share some insights if Nothing will try to remain on the ‘breakthrough’ side?
