NxCalculator - Yet Another Nothing OS Calculator

montybytes

Hear me out, one more calculator app. I tried to take a hand in making a full Nothing OS themed calculator app over the past couple months designing and programming it to the best of my ability. It is essentially almost a 1:1 Google Calculator, just for Nothing OS users to feel at home with their phones. It has the same features as most calculator apps i.e Scientific Mode, DEG/RAD Modes, History e.t.c but really the main point of it is just the Nothing OS design language.

Feel free to download and test it as well as leaving feedback here or on the GitHub repo.

I am currently looking for testers for the PlayStore release, send me an email to montybytes@gmail.com to be added to the list.

wow, this is exactly what I needed, thank you

Nice and clean ✨

RuudHesp

Wow, very nice! Congratulations! I just disabled the Google calculator and will use this one instead. Are you going to publish it on the Play Store?

@montybytes Possible improvement? If I do a calculation and press + by mistake, and then -, it doesn’t change. I have to delete the + and then add the -. In these cases, it would be more convenient if it changed without deleting, right?

I wish that Nothing (rather than creating apps for NOS from the scratch) can just pick the best apps from community , make the team tweak and optimise it and then release them as official apps.

This way the team can completely focus on OS itself, community feels included, encourages creativity and saves money too.

amazing work

Can make currency converter like xiaomi calculator

Dr.PAL

It would be really great if we get seperator for the numbers

Nicouschulas

montybytes finally a good replacement for google’s calcualtor, could you add a curency converter?
Which version do I need to download?
You could add a few more animations and I would replace the C button with a delete icon. And it would be cool if you can replace for example + with a - when you typing instead of manually delete it

montybytes JUST one update needed. Just needed Backspace option. This is the Only & most needed feature missing.

Hello everyone!

Thanks to all of you for the feedback and suggestions! I really appreciate it.

Nicouschulas : depending on your phone’s architecture you’d download the matching apk file but I have provided a universal apk (nxcalculator-release.apk) that bundles all and installs the one for your phone. The only downside is that it is larger in size due to the bundling but I will work on reducing apk size as time goes by

RuudHesp & Nicouschulas : thanks for noting the +/- replacement behaviour, it actually is supposed to replace it, that was an oversight on my part, I will fix that in a coming minor update

Dr.PAL : working on the output formatting as we speak and internationalisation for those who use commas as decimals

VBlogDay & Nicouschulas : converters are going to be the next major update, was working on getting a functional calculator first then add features later

SenthamizhS : the backspace is the “C” button which stands for “Clear” but on future versions I will use an icon for better intuition when using the calculator

RuudHesp : once the calculator is polished enough, I will release it to the Play Store

Major UI issue noted: Landscape mode does not work, adding a fix to it in next update 🛠️

The App looks great. It appears under the other folder in main menu. Could you please move it into utilities folder?

Hi, I have some suggestions. The calculator buttons would look more consistent if they used the system font (Inter/Roboto) with a Medium/Semibold weight. Another option is to match the monospace font used for the result text above the buttons.

Hey that one looks so good. Any possibility to add this as a widget in lockscreen to access Calculator?
