Should I get a Headphone (1) or wait for a 2nd gen?

I’m traumatized by Big Tech release dates.

I bought a PS4 Pro a couple of months before the PS5 announcement. I got a MacBook Air M2 a week before the M3 presentation. I picked up the plastic Ear (a) a day before the Ear (3) with that dope metal design dropped.

Recently, I lost my Headphone (1) – which I got right after the release, and now I’m terrified of buying a new pair. I know it’s the one thing that will solve all my life’s problems, but if I see 2nd gen leaks on the day of my purchase, I’ll hang myself with that gorgeous white mini-jack cable they put in a box.

That’s some trauma.

I don’t think Nothing plans to release headphones in an yearly cycle. Cause most headphone line-ups from other tech companies dont. It’s just a speculation so take it with a grain of salt. Even if Nothing should release headphone(2) in yearly cycle then it’ll likely be released in July, which is pretty far.

There are some leaks that Nothing might release Headphone(1a) which will be an inferior version.

Everything considered I’d say it’s safe to buy Headphone(1) now if you like them.

Sorry you lost those man. I witnessed those headphones from a user and it would be the closest I would get to see them in public. I would definitely hate to lose a pair of those beautiful headphones.

I personally keep my CMF Headphones pro at home just so they don’t get damaged and just carry around my CMF Buds 2. Very rarely would I bring my headphones out but I’m sure you had a different circumstance.

I personally would wait. This was a revelation for me when it had to come down to if I wanted the phone (3) or the (4a). You never know if the headphones (a) will look and sound better until people review them. Just like the new phones too. I hate the waiting, but there’s not much you can do to keep the clock turning. All it takes is to stay engaged, stay faithful, and just stay updated. Hang in there.

igorkleshchev The Headphone (1) is still a fairly recent product, personally I doubt we’ll see a new release within the next few months.

What has been already announced, maybe you noticed it, is a more budget friendly option called Headphone (a). I guess they’ll launch it together with the new Phone (4a) series next week.

At this point, I wouldn’t recommend anything from the “nothing” brand at all. Just look at the next branch - for six months, the sound for flagship headphones has been broken, and everything will not be fixed.
