I’m sharing my experience with CMF Phone 1 warranty support in India so others can make an informed decision. This is not a hate post—just a genuine user experience.
I reported an AMOLED display issue where the status bar icons leave a visible shadow / image retention, especially noticeable on light backgrounds. I raised this issue within the active warranty period.
Apart from this display issue, my phone has been working perfectly fine. There are no touch issues, no battery problems, no audio issues, no heating, and no abnormal behavior that would normally be associated with liquid damage.
At the authorized service center, I was informed that the Liquid Damage Indicator (LDI) was triggered. However:
• No liquid-damaged components or corrosion were shown to me
• The diagnosis report and estimate do not mention any specific liquid-affected parts
• The reported issue remained limited to the AMOLED display
Despite this, I was given a repair estimate of around ₹13,000, which included display and mainboard replacement, for a phone that originally cost around ₹15,500.
When I contacted Nothing India Support, I repeatedly received responses stating that the device had “sustained liquid damage” and was therefore out of warranty. However, no clear technical explanation was provided explaining how liquid damage caused the reported display issue, or why a mainboard replacement was required when the phone otherwise functions normally.
I also received messages saying they tried to contact me by phone, but I did not receive any calls and my number was active at the time.
After multiple emails and repeated template-style replies without technical clarification, I decided to stop pursuing the case further—for my own mental peace.
I’m posting this only to share my experience and not to accuse or discourage anyone. I believe transparency helps users make better decisions.
