Over the years, Nothing have honed in on their approach to marketing their new products. Their launch cycle becomes a “known” element, but there’s always something new to it. The hype of Phone (1) & (2), the “Fresh Eyes” campaign of (2a) and the engagement of the community for both of the Community Editions we’ve seen.
First impressions are obviously fundamental to how a product is received, I know as a Phone (3) owner, at first, I wasn’t keen on the departure from Glyph lights to the Glyph matrix, but I’ve come to love it! Looking back, the signs were always there with the “It’s a magic number” post and more!
Now, with Phone (4a) around the corner, I’m loving the marketing cycle kicking back up! The tease of the 2 Pokemon hinting at what product categories we might be seeing, the community reacts, some of the odd “protection” marketing 😃, the colourway teases on Instagram/Socials & now Headphone(a) as well! I personally really enjoy the flow of Pokemon Reveal -> Community Reactions -> Specific Marketing for that Product -> teasing what’s new ahead of the big reveal!
Is there something I’ve missed in the pattern of Nothing’s marketing cycle? What’s your favourite part? Are there any other brands you really enjoy how they market new products?
